We all had a great day on Sunday 16th September when Paul Church joined us to launch Indigo Blu in store. Thanks to everyone who came along.
Indigo Blu are "quintessentially English rubber stamps, with unique and highly detailed deep etched designs" – and they are all made in England. They also make the best gliding glue, called Flitter Glu, and a great range of gilding flakes.
Paul showed us how to make best use of the flakes with some stunning designs and now we've got lots of ideas watch out for our special Indigo Blu classes!

We all love a crafty day out - and Crafty Daze has one planned for the convenience of our customers. We have chosen Friday 9th November 2012 and will leave the shop at around 8.30am, arriving at the NEC for 9.30am, and leave the NEC again at about 4.30pm to arrive at the shop at 5.30pm. Cost will be £25 which includes the entrance ticket to all 3 shows. We are taking bookings now with a £10 deposit - call us or book online.

Fridays Scrap class

This feminine layout has a few options for photographs: the total photo area measures 9"x4", and can accommodate, for example, one 4"x3" portrait plus four to six passport photos and journalling (see left), OR one 6"x4" landscape photo plus journalling, OR one 6"x4" landscape plus one 4"x3" portrait photos and no journalling, etc.........  If you're unsure whether your photos are suitable sizes, give us a call beforehand.
If you're usually the one behind the camera, and don't often feature in your own scrapbook pages, here's the opportunity to add to your 'Book of Me' (don't worry, if you're the shy type, you can substitute the 'me' for another someone special!).

We love the Basic Grey "Plumeria" paper range. Just look at the projects we've been doing with it.

There's still time for you to book on classes that are using this paper range.

The Big One on 14th August is a homage to  Plumeria paper! This is a great value day too- you get to keep one of the most popular paper packs of the year, which alone would retail at £19.99. As well as that, Rebecca will teach you how to use some of your papers/stickers to make an elegant mini book and there will still be plenty of your pack left to take home. (But we have some examples of what you could make with that too!)
We had fun in June's The Big One class making the Wizard of Oz Starbook.  Claire learned how to make this book in a class taught by Dyan Reaveley who is Ranger Industries senior educator in Europe and decided to pass on the fun to Crafty Daze customers.

Watch out for more projects in Crafty Daze's "The Big One" series.

YOUNG CRAFTERS' CLUB

Calling all Young Crafters.
Lots of our youngsters love their crafting but don't get a chance to come very often during term time. So now it's their chance.
Every Tuesday during the summer holidays, starting on 24th July, we'll be holding a Young Crafters' Club. Aimed at children aged betwen 8-13, we'll be doing crafty projects lasting about 2.5 - 3 hours, starting at 10.30am. We have a trainee teacher (Key Stage 2), Samantha, taking charge of the youngsters during the club, and for your peace of mind, both Samantha and Claire are CRB cleared for their respective current educational institutions. Watch out in the class page for the list of classes.
Getting to the church on time!

When you decide to make your own wedding stationery it can seem a little bit daunting. Well, just to prove it's all possible and well worth the effort, have a look at our lovely bride Michaela, who got married on 16th August, and the hardworking ladies who put all the effort in to make their own beautiful bespoke stationery.
Before they arrived at Crafty Daze they had no experience in papercraft at all, but by the time the wedding arrived they were Big Shot experts! They made all the invitations, order of services and place cards, all perfectly matched to the wedding colours - well done girls!
(And don't they look gorgeous too!)
